Design of the Home Area

I decided to take the current description of what I'm up to, out of the main page of the site and into another one. Such a page belongs in the CV section of the site, because "now" is part of my life. While other people may care about my past, or my future plans, I care about my present.
So what am I up to these days? Mostly waiting for Christopher to grow up and take control of his life and when I'm not... I used to do many things at once, and generally got torn between them. Now I'm going to keep to strict priorities: health (mens sana in corpore sano), kid, money, then everything else. Thus:
- Mens Sana: After the study hiatus I took from 2007 to 2010 to do warehouse work, all my professional work has been again
Brain based rather than Brawn, as I always find learning opportunities and look for solutions, provide suggestions. Outside school, Chris is only honing his reflexes these days with games. I program little bits at work or for myself.
- Corpore Sano: The body, the vessel we inhabit, seems to take most of the time that's not work-related... We came to Calgary more than 10 years ago and we're still looking for a good Karate dojo for my kid and me. In the meanwhile, I push some weights at home every now and then. Other than that, and actually much more often, cycling and hiking on the slopes of Kananaskis and Nose Hill Park or toward and around downtown is always fun, as we expected when we chose this spot of Calgary to move to. My kid is an adult now, but he rarely gets out of the house, unless it is with his friends...
- Spiritus Sano: We try to help others. Also, we're taking care of a little rescued kitten: Poof-Poof.
My web pages are (still) in dire need of a spring cleaning; I played for a while with the idea of doing them up as a wiki, but abandoned that since my favorite wiki engine is getting more and more difficult to configure. So these pages shall wait in their various stages of completion until I get my current project, Monade, off the (alpha) ground. 
My PhD studies in Cognitive Science at Carleton University, Ottawa, ON Canada are left behind. I still watch and help my co-workers as they use various tools (both virtual and real), thus gathering data for my applications and refining the MonDoc principles. However, the actual job of distilling the principles into a consistently modular pattern language, with abstraction/application level-bounds well defined... will have to wait for me to find the proper frame of mind and build the right tool. Or for someone else to come out with something similar.
